Mercy Home in Gwalior was founded as a refuge for 45+ children and young adults who are speech- and hearing-impaired or have intellectual disabilities.
Today, neglect has stripped the facility of dignity:
- No clean drinking water or sanitary restrooms
- Broken fans, lights, and coolers in sweltering heat
- Torn, ill-fitting clothes and unhygienic living spaces
- Cracked walls, peeling paint, pervasive odor, and unsafe wiring
